Do I really need Calcium?

It’s important to remember that you likely are already consuming calcium in your diet from sources like leafy greens and fortified plant-milks. However, it can be hard to get enough, which is why we created this product.

Is it safe?

We held off on launching a calcium supplement for 3 years because we didn’t want to launch a synthetic calcium. Finally, after a lot of research and investigation we discovered a completely natural plant-based form of calcium, made from algae, which is what we have today.

The United States FDA recognises our calcium ingredient as GRAS, meaning that it is Generally Regarded as Safe. This is the key certification required to include it in supplements. Like all supplements, you should always consult with your doctor first.

What are the supporting ingredients?

Most supplement brands use gelatin for their capsules. As a vegan brand, we use vegetable cellulose and microcrystalline cellulose instead, which is made from plants.

We also use a tiny amount of vegetable magnesium stearate, made from plants, to lubricate the machinery when we produce the capsules.

Finally, Silicon Dioxide is a safe and natural mix of silicon and oxygen, found in many foods you likely already consume like grains. It helps protect the red marine algae.

Should I take it with Vitamin D?

Taking Vitamin D with Calcium can help with the absorption, but it’s not absolutely necessary. However, we do also offer a Vitamin D made from lichen and our Essential for Vegans and Vegan Complete both contain Vitamin D.
