CAN’T I JUST GET ZINC FROM A HEALTHY DIET?

Zinc is an essential nutrient, which means your body cannot produce it naturally but instead has to obtain it through the food we eat. Even though there are several good sources of zinc available for those on a plant-based diet (legumes, kale, whole grains, nuts, and seeds), the richest sources of the nutrient are found in animal products.

On top of that, plant-based sources of zinc like whole grains and legumes are often accompanied by absorption-blocking nutrients, making for a less bioavailable source.

Vegans and vegetarians will fare better by incorporating a zinc supplement to make sure they are getting enough of this vital mineral!
