An excellent question and we’ll do our best to explain here:

1. Naturally, as a vegan solution, the mechanisms at play are different here. I.E. we are not taking the collagen of another animal and hoping to absorb it, we are instead taking a combination of vitamins, minerals, essential proteins and plant nutrients to achieve the same desired result.

2. The desired result is an improvement in skin, hair and nail health. Each nutrient that we include plays a different role. Vitamin A for example has solid evidence behind it that it stimulates collagen synthesis, one source here. So to answer your question, yes, we have good evidence that this product can stimulate natural collagen production and appears efficacious at a range of age groups.

3. We also include include Vitamin E which plays a role in hair health and Zinc which has several studies behind it showing it can promote healthy clear skin. Biotin has also been found to beneficial for nail health (source).

4. Some of the ingredients are more experimental and we’re less confident of the efficacy, purely because we need more research. For example, we include a small amount of the amino acid Glycine, which is a major component of collagen (around 25%), but we need more research to be completely certain what impact this has on collagen production.

Ultimately a healthy diet, sufficient sleep, stress management and skin protection will of course have the largest impact, but this evidence-based product may also help.
